ICS Teaching and Learning Philosophy
Each child is unique and learns differently, developing at his/her own rate. Learning takes place when this is recognized and reinforced by professionals who believe all children can succeed. In addition, real-time data provides teachers with accurate and timely information to shape differentiation.
At ICS, the role of the teacher is that of a coach, while the children are actively engaged in their learning. We provide an environment where students are free to ask questions without fear, promoting interaction in small groups of busy, thinking minds. Thus, the hands-on learning increases student engagement and motivation.
It is important to provide an educational framework that assists students in developing the constructs upon which their viewpoints will be based. As students’ educational foundations develop, students become empowered to look to the future with hopes of becoming productive members of society.
